Biman flights made mandatory for trips at govt expense

The government has made mandatory the use of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on all the routes where the national flag carrier operates flights for trips at government expense.

The directive came from Prime Minister’s Office yesterday.

The PMO issued a circular signed by Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Md Nazibur Rahman in this regard.

According to the notice, from now on all air trips on public money must be made using the flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Other carriers can only be used to those destinations where Biman Bangladesh Airlines doesn’t operate its flights, it added.

The circular said the directive will be effective for ministers, state ministers, deputy ministers, parliament members, constitutional post holders, chairmen and members and employees of the commissions, formed by the government, and officials and employees of all government, semi-government and autonomous bodies, corporations, constitutional bodies and government projects.
