The BNP today lodged two complaints with the office of the chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), accusing ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League leaders, and law enforcers of unlawful killings and enforced disappearances.

The complaints allege that 2,276 of its leaders and activists were killed in “crossfires” between 2008 and August 5 last year. They also claim that 153 members, including Elias Ali and Chowdhury Alam, were forcibly disappeared during the same period.

Mohammad Salauddin Khan, a Krishak Dal leader and coordinator of BNP’s case data collection cell on enforced disappearances and killings, submitted the complaints in the morning.

The complaints were signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
