BNP plans Tk 30 Ifatr-mahfil honouring Khaleda Zia

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has plan an iftar-mahfil on May 28 in honur to leaders of different political parties allocating Tk 30 per head.

Honouring party chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in jail, party leaders took the decision as their party chief has been allocated Tk 30 for daily iftar as per jail code.

BNP’s iftar committee took the decision in meeting organised at party chairperson’s Gulshan office on Saturday (May 18) evening.
BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, vice chairman Barkatullah Bulu, advisor to party chairperson Abdul Qayyum, joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Mohila Dal general secretary Sultana Ahmed and Chhatradal general secretary Akramul Hasan attended the meeting.

BNP’s iftar-mahfil will be held at Gulshan’s Ladies Club in the capital.

Mohila dal secretary Sultana Ahmed said as our party chief is getting iftar of Tk 30, we, in honour to her, also take iftar with same price adding seven items will be included TK 30 in iftar package.

According to BNP sources, the iftar package will include a small bottle of water (Tk 6), one piece date, one piece piazu, one piece beguni, one piece small jilapi, some gram and some puffed rice.

However, they did not clarified that whether they took this decision for this iftar-mahfil programme only or their regular iftar menu.

BNP arranged several iftar-mahfils also in honour to orphanages, Alem-Ulamas, political leaders, foreign deplomats last year 2018 without Khaleda Zia.
