With packed halls and sustained audience turnout weeks after Eid, this year’s releases “Borbaad”, “Daagi” and “Jongli” have marked a strong box office run—prompting their scheduled release abroad.

Due to the overwhelming response, no foreign films have been released in local multiplexes post-Eid.

“Daagi” has already been released in Australia, while “Borbaad” and “Jongli” are expected to follow soon.

Starring Shakib Khan, “Borbaad” is scheduled to release in the United States on April 18 and in Canada on April 19. The film will be screened in cities including New York, Boston, Virginia, Washington DC, Atlanta, Michigan, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Maryland, Buffalo, and Philadelphia in the US, and in Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto in Canada.

It will also premiere in Australia and New Zealand on April 26, with plans for a Middle East release underway.

The film is being distributed by SK Films, Shakib Khan’s production house.

“Jongli”, directed by M Raahim and starring Siam Ahmed, is set to release internationally on April 25 in Canada, the United States, England, Ireland, Sweden, and Australia.

The film will be distributed by Swapna Scarecrow in North America, with co-distribution by Reverie Films in England and Ireland. Friends Movies and BongOz Films will handle the Sweden and Australia releases, respectively.

“Daagi”, directed by Shihab Shaheen and starring Afran Nisho, has received positive response in Australia, with Path Productions reporting advance ticket sales for 15 shows through April 27.

The film is expected to release next in New Zealand, followed by planned releases in the US and Canada.
