BTS’ most adorable and group’s youngest member, Jungkook, has deactivated his Instagram account, jungkook.97 for good. Jungkook announced his decision in a series of posts on the popular Korean fan’s community forum Weverse on Tuesday. The “Dreamers” singer explained the reason behind leaving Instagram for good.

Jungkook commented on Weverse, “I’m no longer on Instagram. It has not been hacked:) Because I didn’t use it, I simply deleted it… don’t worry!!!”

He wrote in another post, “What can I do if I don’t use it? I’d rather do Weverse lives every now and then.” He also stated, “I deleted the app as well, and I doubt I’ll use it again in the future! I’m informing (you all) in advance!!!”

Jungkook had a very amusing relationship with Instagram. From his impressive name, abcdefghi lmnopqrstuvwxyz, to Jungkook.97, BTS ARMY has witnessed Jungkook go through various phases, from the South Korean idol deleting his entire feed from the account to re-uploading in a stylised format.

Jungkook also held Instagram AMA sessions. He would also post Instagram stories. But, after BTS announced a hiatus to focus on solo activities, Jungkook became less and less active on Instagram. He recently joined V, Kim Taehyung, for an Instagram live.

Meanwhile, Jungkook has been concentrating on his solo music. The singer debuted his track “Dreamers” at the FIFA 2022 World Cup late last year, and he also collaborated with Charlie Puth on “Left and Right” last summer. The singer is also expected to release a solo album/mixtape soon.
