A case was filed with Gulshan police station on Wednesday evening in connection with the killing of DBC TV news producer Abdul Bari, police said.
Abdul Alim, elder brother of Bari, lodged an FIR against unknown killers, said Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station.
Police later filed a case based on the FIR.
Quoting the First Information Report (FIR) of the case, the OC said that  Bari, 28, senior executive news producer of DBC, came out from his Mohakhali residence at around 8:45 pm on Tuesday night and did not return home, UNB reports.
Later at around 7:00 am on Wednesday,  Bari was found dead near Police Plaza in the Hatirjheel area of the capital.
The OC said that local people spotted the body of Bari lying in a pool of blood on the road in the morning and informed police.
Cops recovered the body and sent it to Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
“Bari was brutally murdered. Efforts are on to identify and nab the killers,” said the OC.
