Decision to resume domestic flights for int’l passenger

Despite the decision to suspend all types of domestic flight operations from Thursday (July) in the wake of seven-day restrictions to contain coronavirus transmission in the country, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has deviated from its decision.

The decision allowing the operations of domestic flights was conveyed in a new directive by AKM Faizul Huque, Director of the Department of Flight Standard and Regulations of CAAB on Thursday.

The directive states that airlines will be operate their flights as per their schedules if they want.

It says that only inbound passengers from abroad and outbound passengers of international flights will be avail domestic flights.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines and Novoair will be able to carry foreign passengers only on the flights of domestic routes.

The airlines will have to check the passenger’s international air ticket to get confirmed whether the passenger has arrived from abroad or leave for abroad. Being confirmed about it, the airlines will issue boarding pass of domestic flights.

Besides, the directive says that flights must be operated in accordance with the government approved health guidelines.

Earlier, the CAAB suspened flight operations on domestic routes till July 7 amid nationwide restrictions.
