Days after Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau for examination over an alleged drug link, the actress has reportedly resumed work. The actress, who was shooting for filmmaker Shakun Batra’s yet-untitled film before she was summoned by the NCB, has returned to Goa and kick-started the film’s shoot again.

As per a recent report, the actress joined the unit last Thursday and she was in “good spirits” as she joined the film’s cast and crew in the city. Since there was a long break, the director wanted to ease the actress into the process.

A source informed Mid-day, “Deepika was in good spirits as she joined the unit last Thursday. Since there had been a 10-day-plus break, Shakun wanted her to ease into the process. She shot a light-hearted scene with Siddhant and Ananya.”

The source also spilled the beans about what the film has in store for viewers and said that the film analyses the relationship dynamics between four friends, who are on a road trip. Previously, Shakun explained the film as a “domestic noir”.

The NCB, which is currently probing the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, is also investigating an alleged drug link in the film industry. The actress, along with Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh, was questioned by the NCB regarding the same. It was reported that the actress’ phone was seized after the probe.

On the work front, Deepika has a couple of films lined up for her. Next up, Deepika is set to star in Kabir Khan’s 83. The film stars Ranveer Singh as legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The actress was also set to star in the Hindi remake of The Intern, co-starring late Rishi Kapoor. The makers are yet to announce a new update about the film.
