Deepika Padukone’s elaborate orange gown gets the better of her at Cannes

Deepika Padukone has been making the news every day for the last one week, courtesy of her Cannes attendance. The actress is attending the 75th edition of the film festival as a jury and her red carpet looks have gotten the fashion folks talking.

Yesterday, May 23, the actress walked the carpet in a stunning orange gown and while everything was right with her look, the train of her outfit did not favour her. In a now-viral video, shared by Brut India, Deepika can be seen struggling with her train and holding it every time she had to pose with fellow jury members.

As soon as this video of Deepika holding her train and attempting to walk over the stairs surfaced online, netizens started to react to the same. While some criticised her designer, others commented that Deepika should not have worn such an outfit to the red carpet in the first place.

“When they can’t manage why do they wear such dresses. That too with a long tail. It’s so embarrassing and make fun of themselves,” wrote one user. Another added, “I mean, why wear such a dress where you need assistance, when it’s a struggle? What’s the point?”

A fan did come to Deepika’s rescue and said, “Can we appreciate the fact that she single-handedly carried the entire outfit??”
