GBNEWS24 DESK//
Deepika Padukone’s name has been linked to alleged drug case that has cropped up amid Sushant Singh Rajput’s death probe. The actress will be interrogated by NCB on September 26 (tomorrow).
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has reportedly issued summon to Deepika Padukone in connection with an alleged drug case. Amid Sushant Singh Rajput’s death probe, NCB accessed few WhatsApp chats from 2017 allegedly involving Deepika’s name, based on which, suspicions have been raised against the actress procuring drugs. Deepika is yet to issue an official statement regarding the same, however, the actress who was in Goa shooting for Shakun Batra’s next, was seen arriving in Mumbai last night along with husband Ranveer Singh.
NCB has asked Deepika to be present for interrogation on September 26 (tomorrow). But ahead of the questioning, buzz is that Ranveer has also written a plea to the agency, requesting them to allow him too, to be a part of the interrogation with his wife Deepika. Turns out Ranveer, in his application, has mentioned about Deepika apparently having bouts of ‘anxiety and panic attacks’ and that he wants to be there to support her.
Peepingmoon.com has carried this report stating, “In his application to the NCB, Ranveer has reportedly stated that Deepika sometimes suffers from anxiety and gets panick attacks so he should be granted permission to be with her. Ranveer is believed to have added that he is a law abiding citizen and knows he can’t be present at the time of Deepika’s questioning but is understood to have requested that he be allowed inside the NCB office. However, no decision has been taken by the central drugs agency on his application.”
Apart from Deepika, other celebrity names who have been issued summons by NCB include Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh. Rakul too has flown down from Hyderabad to her Mumbai residence while Sara, who was in Goa with mother Amrita Singh and brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, was seen arriving at the Mumbai airport, last evening.
The investigation, which is being carried out by the NCB, is to probe an alleged drug link in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Rhea Chakraborty, who was accused of abetting the actor’s death in his father KK Singh’s complaint, is currently in judicial custody after her chats, pertaining to drugs, were probed. Her brother Showik Chakraborty, too, was arrested by the NCB.
Sushant, 34, passed away on June 14. Currently, three agencies are investigating the case; Central Bureau of Investigation, Narcotics Control Bureau and Enforcement Directorate.
