DMP bans firecrackers, explosions during Shab-e-Barat

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned the carrying of all kinds of explosives and explosion of firecrackers in the capital ahead of Shab-e-Barat to be observed across the country Sunday night.

The restriction will remain in force from 6:00pm on Monday till 6:00am on Tuesday, according to a press release signed by DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam.

The ban was imposed under Section 28 of the DMP Ordinance 3, 1976, aiming to maintain the sanctity of Shab-e-Barat.
