DMP chief tested Covid-19 positive despite vaccinated

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam has tested Covid-19 positive in spite of receiving vaccine.
He got infected with coronavirus on March 6 last. He has been undergoing treatment at Central Police Hospital at Rajarbagh in the capital. It was confirmed by a police official at Central Police Hospital.
Islam got infected with coronavirus on the 27th day after getting Covid-19 vaccinated on February 7 from the same hospital.
The DMP commissioner told journalists that he was feeling well after receiving treatment at the hospital. His physical condition was also improving. He sought blessings from the countrymen.
Police Headquarters sources said a total of 19,114 police personnel tested Covid-19 positive until Tuesday (March 9). Of them, 18,958 got recovered, while 86 died.
