Fertilizer-laden cargo drowned in Pashur river, 3 missing

Three security guards went missing in the river Pashur after a fertilizer-laden cargo vessel capsized in Sundarbans on Tuesday night, forest officials said.

The cargo vessel ‘MV Haradda’, laden with TSP fertilizer, sank in Harbaria area in Chandpai range of the Sundarbans around 8:00pm as it was caught by a strong storm, Divisional Forest Officer Md. Mahmudul Hasan told confirming the incident.

Five men of the cargo vessel managed to swim ashore but three security guards remained missing.
