Gary Peters discusses Bangladesh’s security, reforms

US Senator Gary Peters has discussed Bangladesh’s security challenges and the ways the US can support the interim government of Bangladesh’s reform efforts.

Peters, a member of the US Senate Armed Services Committee and Ranking Member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, visited Bangladesh from March 17-19 and called on Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain, and Chief of Army Staff Waker-Uz-Zaman.

US embassy in Dhaka in a post on X today said as part of his visit, Senator Peters also held a roundtable with experts on human rights, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence to better understand how Bangladesh can harness the benefits of emerging technologies, address potential security risks, protect data privacy, and promote human rights.
