German junior FM to arrive today

Minister of State at German Foreign Ministry Niels Annen will arrive here Wednesday afternoon on a two-day visit to discuss bilateral issues including e-passport.

He is now in New Delhi on a two-day visit, an official told reporters, according to UNB report.

Bangladesh and Germany are likely to sign an agreement on e-passport on July 19 in the city.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and the German Minister of State will attend the signing ceremony, says a diplomatic source.

Annen will hold formal talks with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali apart from his meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the visit.

In India, he held political talks on foreign, regional and security policy topics with Indian leaders.

Minister of State Annen, in his first visit to Bangladesh, is likely to discuss trade, investment and international issues that are of great importance to both countries, including the Rohingya crisis.
