Govt allocates TK 585 crore as assistance for unemployed people: Enamur

The government has so far allocated Tk 584.92 crore for the humanitarian assistance of unemployed people due to the lockdown in the second wave of Covid-19, said State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief M Enamur Rahman.

The state minister said this at a press conference at the secretariat today on the overall relief allocation and distribution activities, said a press release.

The state minister said the government had provided various types of financial assistance including huge amount of food items to the marginalized people across the country last year in response to the directive to restrict movement in Bangladesh as a result of global epidemic Covid-19.

Once again, as per the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government has so far allocated Tk 584.92 crore for the humanitarian assistance of unemployed people due to the second wave of Covid-19, he added.

Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief M Mohsin was also present.
