Hefazat’s Dhaka city unit president Maulana Junaid arrested

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested Hefazat-e-Islam’s Dhaka metropolitan unit president Maulana Junaid Al Habib.

He was arrested from a madrasa in Baridhara area of the capital on Saturday.

With this arrest, more than a hundred of leaders and activists of the organization were arrested across the country, including seven central leaders.

Joint commission (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mahbub Alam confirmed the matter.

He said, “Acting on a tip-off, a team of police raid a madrasa in Baridhara area in the afternoon and arrested Junaid Al Habib. There are several cases against him in connection with the Hefazat violence in 2013.”
