On the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway, a bus lost control at the Dhaleshwari Toll Plaza and collided with a private car, resulting in six deaths. Among the deceased were the wife and seven-year-old child of a biker, who survived the incident. The tragedy deeply moved actress Mehazabien, who expressed her heartfelt condolences to the grieving man.

Mehazabien wrote in a Facebook post, “I cannot find words to express my sympathy for this father. Watching your loved ones die before your eyes is akin to losing a part of yourself. While this man may be alive, a part of him has already died along with his family. May the Almighty grant him the strength to endure this loss.”

Addressing the issue of unsafe roads, the actress added, “The roads are never safe. Incidents like this, resulting from negligence, happen all year round, yet no effective measures are taken to prevent such carelessness. Until significant action is taken, these tragedies will continue to be stories we hear, read, empathise with, and then forget.”

The accident occurred on Friday, December 27, around 11 am. at the Dhaleshwari Toll Plaza’s Mawa-bound Lane, several vehicles, including private cars, microbuses, and motorcycles, were waiting to pay tolls. A Kuakata-bound passenger bus from Bepari Paribahan lost control, crossing the toll plaza barrier and crashing into a private car, causing a chain collision and claiming six lives.
