Kangana on Aarey Metro shed scrapping: First world problems of few fancy activists are not Mumbaikars’ problem

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Sunday reacted to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s announcement of the relocation of the Aarey Metro car shed project to Kanjurmarg. The actress, without mincing words, referred to the entire row as “first world problems” and said that these problems aren’t those of the Mumbaikars.
The Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi actress also added that she planted more than lakh saplings and took a dig at the powerful and wealthy. She said that while not cutting trees is good, stopping urbanisation to suit the powerful’s agenda is a part of the problem.
The actress’ tweet read, “First world problems of a few fancy activists are not #Mumbaikars problems, last year I planted more than one Lakh saplings, not cutting trees is good but stopping urbanisation only to suit powerful and wealthy’s agendas is not the solution but part of the problem #Aarey #Metro.”
Maharashtra CM also announced on Sunday that the land for the metro will be made available free of cost. During an online address, the CM said that the Metro car shed coming up in the Aarey colony has been scrapped. The decision came over a year after many activists protested against the cutting of trees.
Kangana locked horns with Shiv Sena after the actress compared Maharashtra to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in one of her tweets. Before that, the actress also commented on Mumbai Police and said that she fears her safety. The actress was in the news after Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation demolished a part of her office in Pali Hill, Mumbai. The actress had also granted Y+ security by the Centre after she said that she was receiving threats.
Apart from this, Kangana has also been in the news for her remarks against the film industry, the ongoing Sushant Singh Rajput death probe and the alleged drug link being suspected in Bollywood.
