Karni Sena demands change in title of Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj: ‘We have already warned….’

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Prithviraj is one of the most-awaited movies this year. Based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, the film is scheduled to hit the screens on June 3, 2022. However, weeks before the film’s release, the Karni Sena had started opposing the title of the film without even watching it. Reportedly, the Karni Sena has demanded a change in the title of Akshay Kumar-Manushi Chhillar starrer Prithviraj and have been pushing the makers to include ‘Samrat’ in the title of the movie.
During an interaction with ETimes, Surjeet Singh Rathore, from the Karni Sena revealed that they have met the CEO of Yash Raj Films. He told the publication, “We have met Akshaye Widhani, the CEO of Yash Raj films and they have promised to make the change to the title. They have agreed to honour our demand.”

He further said, “If they don’t make the change and don’t hold a screening of the film, Prithviraj will not release in Rajasthan.” Surjeet Singh Rathore also said that if they do not make the changes in the title, the film will not be allowed to be released in Rajasthan.
Rathore told the publication, “We have already warned the exhibitors of Rajasthan about the same. If the title of the film does not change to Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, we will not allow them to show the film in Rajasthan.”
