Light to moderate rain likely: Met office

The Met office has forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty or squally wind across the country for the next 24 hours ending at 9:00 am on Saturday.
According to the Met office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
Besides, moderately heavy to very heavy falls are likely to occur at Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions during the period.
“Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country,” the weather bulletin added.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low over the western part of Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal intensified into a land depression and currently lying over West Bengal and adjoining area.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, the center of the land depression to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs has extended up to North Bay. As a result, the monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded at 34.8°C yesterday at Rangpur district while today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 24.2°C at Feni in Chattogram division. At the same time, the country’s maximum rainfall recorded 258mm at Feni district.
Today’s sunset at Dhaka will be at 6:43 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:28 am.
