Lightning kills trucker in Rajshahi

A truck driver was killed when a thunderbolt struck him at Khudir Batala in Charghat upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred when victim Hebol Ali, 55, son of Maru Sardar of Sardarpara village in the upazila, got down from his truck to have a cup of tea at 8:30pm, witnesses said.

Mozammel Haq, duty officer of Charghat upazila health complex, said Hebol died on the spot.
