Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapoor had taken the internet by storm after they were snapped smoking cigarettes on the streets of the United States. Clad in a white halter dress, Mahira looked comfortable in the company of the Kapoor lad, thus sparking rumours that the two are in a relationship.

The Pakistani actress, who is a household name in her country, was mercilessly trolled and slut-shamed for wearing a ‘short dress’ and smoking with Ranbir. Later, another video featuring the duo came out on the social media in which they were seen allegedly having an argument. Following this, rumours did round for several days that Mahira and Ranbir were in a relationship. Later, both the actors issued separate statements about the photos with the latter saying, “It was a personal matter.”

On Wednesday, Mahira took to Twitter to thank and congratulate cricketer Mohammad Hafeez who announced his retirement from the test cricket.

Mahira tweeted saying, “Mubarak on a great innings and thank You!! I’m so glad I got to watch you play live. Love to you and the family.”

However, a social media user tried to troll her and commented on her post, “Lgta hai koi khaas kaam nahin mil rha jab say ranveer kapoor waali pictures out hueen (It seems that you aren’t getting many offers at work ever since your pics with Ranveer Kapoor came out).”

And to everyone’s surprise, Mahira had a savage reply to the troll as she replied back saying, “Ranbir*”.

Earlier this year, reports had surfaced that Ranbir secretly met Mahira in London after he wrapped up ‘Brahmastra’ shooting schedule in Bulgaria. A SpotboyE report had claimed that while the entire cast and crew flew back to Mumbai after the shoot completed, Ranbir decided to stop by in London, apparently, to meet Mahira, who was there for a promotional shoot. However, there was no picture proof of the duo catching up after the long gap.

In the meantime, Ranbir is rumoured to be dating Alia Bhatt, for almost a year now.
