On day 1, Master has managed to gross over Rs 1 crore in Chennai with just 50 per cent occupancy

After making fans wait for a long time, Master finally hit the screens yesterday. Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action-thriller features Vijay in the lead role with Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. Released on the occasion of Pongal (January 13), Master has managed to perform well at the box office.

In Chennai, the film has grossed over Rs 1 crore with just 50 per cent occupancy. Giving an update about Master’s box office numbers, entertainment tracker Kaushik LM tweeted, “#Master Day1 Chennai city gross is 1.21 CR. RECORD release, HUMONGOUS opening Long festive weekend starts now, lot more to come! (50% occupancy cap strictly being followed in the city).”
