Mehazabien Chowdhury, one of Bangladesh’s most celebrated actresses, made headlines as her film “Saba” took centre stage at the prestigious Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.

The fourth edition of the festival kicked off last Thursday (December 5) at Jeddah’s Culture Square, drawing major names from Hollywood, Bollywood, and the global film industry. Among them, Mehazabien stood out as she represented both Bangladesh and its burgeoning film scene.

After earning accolades at festivals in Canada, Korea, and Indonesia, Mehazabien continued her global journey, bringing a taste of Bangladesh to the heart of the Arabian desert.

Embracing her roots, she stayed true to her Bengali identity through her choice of attire and demeanour, making a striking impression on the international stage. What stole the show, however, was her presence among Hollywood’s finest, where she seamlessly mingled with A-list celebrities.

For the event, Mehazabien stunned in an exquisite navy blue saree adorned with intricate golden embroidery, paired with a matching flowing-sleeve blouse and a clutch. Her elegant look was completed with a neatly parted hairstyle, a white-stone bindi, blue-and-white gemstone earrings, and bold maroon lipstick. Every detail of her outfit reflected the timeless beauty of Bengali culture, and her radiant smile captivated those around her.

In a delightful surprise for her fans, Mehazabien shared a series of photos from the event on social media, with one particular selfie sparking excitement. The photo featured her alongside Hollywood legend Will Smith, British actress Emily Blunt, and other renowned stars. Fans were ecstatic, flooding her posts with comments and expressing their pride in seeing her represent Bangladesh on such a grand platform.

Mehazabien’s film “Saba,” where she plays the lead role, has been selected in the competition section of the festival, where it will compete with 15 other international films. Out of the 120 films from 81 countries that are being screened at the event, “Saba” is scheduled for three screenings, further elevating Mehazabien’s status on the global stage.
