Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina and the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

“On behalf of the people of India, I convey my Eid greetings to you and the people of Bangladesh,” he wrote in a letter to Hasina, said the Prime Minister’s Office today.

Modi said Muslims from across the world, including India, performed fasting and offered prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.

On this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the people of the world along with the Muslim Ummah have realised the values of unity and brotherhood, he said.

The Indian premier said that the multilateral partnership between the two countries has become a role model for neighbourly relations in the world due to Hasina’s personal initiative.

Modi said he wants to take the bilateral relationship to a new height through working with Hasina continuously.

He wished peace, harmony, good health and happiness for the people of the two countries and the rest of the world.
