After his big move to Liverpool last summer, Mohamed Salah had no trouble figuring out how to score goals in England.

Driving was another story.

The forward made a £38 million ($49.2m) swap from Roma to Liverpool in the summer of 2017 and proved a bargain, scoring 44 times as he led the Reds to the Champions League final.

While things ended up going swimmingly in the end, Salah admitted in an interview with for a commercial campaign that he had a little trouble adjusting to England when he first arrived, despite having previously spent a short time in London with Chelsea.

His biggest problem? Driving on the right side of the road!

“In the first few weeks it was hard, I had couple of accidents where I did drive on the sidewalk,” Salah said when asked if he had any adjustment issues. “But then everything worked out just fine.”

Salah’s first year with Liverpool saw him win multiple accolades, including the Premier League Player of the Year.

However, with  the Egypt international having delivered a record 32 goals in a 38 game Premier League season last year  to capture the league’s Golden Boot, he feels that is an honour which trumps all the others.

“Premier League Golden Boot, for sure,” he said when asked what his favourite prize was. “I had to work hard for that, and concentrate on every match to score. Also I had to fight for it with great players such as Harry Kane and Kun Aguero.”

Salah’s success in England saw him become a major celebrity back in his native Egypt. At one point, his address was leaked, which lead to scores of fans flocking to his home following his nation’s World Cup exit in Russia .

But Salah does not count that as the strangest fan encounter he hass had – instead, that story began with a fairly normal request to take a photo with him.

“Once I was at home in Egypt, a fan knocked my door and asked to take a picture with me,” Salah said. “I agreed, two hours later he came back with about eight people and asked me to take pictures with them and I agreed.

“At night the door knocked again, I opened and found him with a bus behind him full of people!

“I asked him ‘What are you trying to do?’. He told me that he told them to come take pictures with Salah, and that he is going to bring more people the next day!”

Looking forward to this season, Salah is quite happy with the Liverpool squad as the transfer deadline nears. In fact, he is not interested in the club bringing in any more players.

“No one, really,” Salah said when asked who he wanted the Reds to sign. “I am very happy with the squad we have and feel very comfortable.”

Salah will be looking to kickstart another memorable campaign on Sunday when the Reds host West Ham in their Premier League opener.
