MP Mahmud Us Samad laid to rest

Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury, ruling Awami League lawmaker from Sylhet-3 constituency, was laid to rest in Fenchuganj upazila of Sylhet on Friday evening.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at Kasim Ali Government Model High School at 5:15pm. Later, he was buried at his family graveyard at Nurpur Borobari at about 6.00pm.
The body was brought to Sylhet by a Bangladesh Air Force helicopter 12.00 noon. The helicopter landed at the NGFF playground in Fenchuganj.
From there, the body was taken to Nurpur Borobari by an ambulance.
Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhur died from Covid-19 infection at United Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday.
He was tested for Covid-19 on Monday and the report came positive.
The parliamentarian received his first dose of coronavirus vaccine on February 10, but, had no major side effect.
He was the son of Abdus Samad Chowdhury who was the Foreign Minister during 1996-2001 period.
Meanwhile, President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of lawmaker and Sylhet District Awami League Vice-President Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury.
