Indian rapper-singer Badshah recently found himself in a controversy as a priest from Madhya Pradesh’s Mahakaleshwar Temple had threatened to file an FIR against him for hurting their religious sentiments in the lyrics of his new track “Sanak”.
According to media reports, Badshah was asked to apologise for misusing the name of a deity in his song.
In response to this, the “Kala Chashma” singer had penned down an apology note on his social media accounts yesterday with the promise to change the lyrics of the song.
The rapper wrote on the post, “In light of this recent development, I have taken proactive measures to change some parts of the song and actioned the replacement with this new version on all digital platforms to further avoid hurting anyone. The replacement process takes a few days before the changes will reflect on all platforms. I request everyone to be patient during this period. I humbly offer my sincerest apologies to those whom I may have unknowingly hurt. My fans remain my bedrock, and I shall always hold them in the highest esteem and with boundless affection.”
Badshah gained fame with a multitude of hit songs including, “Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai”, “Let’s Nacho”, “Kala Chashma”, and “Kar Gayi Chull” amongst many others.
