“Famine used to take place this time of the year but we’ve overcome it. Aman harvest will begin after two months. We have 15 lakhs tonnes of rice in stock which is enough for the period,” he said at a press briefing at the Agriculture Ministry at the secretariat today.

Forty-four individuals and organisations have won Bangabandhu Jatiya Krishi Awards 2018 and 2019 for their contribution to the agriculture sector, the minister said.
