No compromise about dishonest judicial officials: CJ

Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique has said most of the officials of the judiciary are honest. If the judiciary is affected due to the activities of a handful of dishonest officials, they will be identified.

“We will not make any compromise regarding the dishonest judiciary officials”, he said while speaking at a reception accorded to him by Bangladesh Women Judges’ Association at Judicial Administration Training Institute in the capital on Saturday.

Justice Hasan Foez Siddique said, “After being appointed as the chief justice, I have gathered information and found that most of our judiciary officials are honest and a handful of them are dishonest.”

He said the honest officials would be rewarded and dishonest officials would be identified.

“Chief Justice’s Award will be given to those who are good judiciary officials and a guideline has already been framed in this regard,” he added.

Chaired by the association’s president Hosne Ara Begum, also a member of Labour Appellate Tribunal, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Law Minister Anisul Huq, Appellate Division judges Obaidul Hassan and M Enayetur Rahim, former Appellate Division judge Nazmun Ara Sultana, Law Secretary Md Golam Sarwar and Supreme Court Registrar General Md Bazlur Rahman.
