Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) on Monday said no harmful ingredients were found in other Napa syrup samples — of the same batch number — collected from Maa Pharmacy in Brahmanbaria.
“Based on our lab test result of eight Napa syrup samples, under three different batches, we have found no harmful stuff. But we are waiting for police’s investigation report to know the reason behind the deaths,” Major General Mohammad Yousuf, director general of DGDA, told reporters at a press conference at his office this afternoon, BSS reports.

In a notification issued yesterday (Sunday), the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has directed all of its divisional and district officials to collect samples of a Napa syrup with batch number-32113121.

The directive was issued following the deaths of two children on Thursday night in Ashuganj upazila under Brahmanbaria district.

The drug regulatory authority asked all its offices at divisional and district levels to collect samples of the syrup and to send the report to the National Control Laboratory after performing tests.
