Bangladesh Film Artistes Association (BFAA) has suspended the membership of arrested Dhallywood actor Pori Moni.

It was stated at a press conference held at Zahir Raihan Colour Lab auditorium of the Film Development Corporation (FDC) on Saturday afternoon.

Addressing the press conference, the BFAA president Misha Sawdagar said, “Pori Moni’s case is very embarrassing for the entire film industry. We don’t patronise any crime. Besides, Pori Moni’s case is sub-judice. It’s not right to make any remark about it. So, we have decided to suspend her membership. The decision has been taken unanimously at the meeting.”

He said actors Pori Moni and Eka have been arrested on various charges. They have been sued on various charges including possessing drugs. It’s their own responsibilities to shoulder their personal affairs. The association would never accept their personal crimes.

“The association will never control where an artiste lives, where he or she goes. As artistes, we were with them in the past and will remain in future. But, we will not obstruct the law. The administration will carry on its duties freely,” he hoped.
