Prosenjit, Dev to headline SVF & Hoichoi’s 2025-26 slate
SVF, the powerhouse of Eastern India’s entertainment scene, along with its digital streaming arm Hoichoi, has unveiled an extensive lineup of over 25 new productions, spanning web-series, feature films, and fresh storytelling formats. The grand reveal took place at “Golper Parbon 1432”, an event marking SVF’s three-decade legacy in Bengali content creation.
Among the most anticipated cinematic ventures are two star-studded spectacles: “Vijaynagar’er Hirey”, an action-packed thriller led by Prosenjit Chatterjee, and “Raghu Dakat”, a historical fantasy starring Dev.
Helmed by Chandrasish Ray, “Vijaynagar’er Hirey” sees Chatterjee stepping back into the shoes of the legendary adventurer Kakababu, embarking on a high-stakes mission to track down a fabled treasure.
Meanwhile, Dhrubo Banerjee directs “Raghu Dakat”, a riveting period drama featuring Dev, Anirban Bhattacharya, Sohini Sarkar, Idhika Paul, and Roopa Ganguly, narrating the transformation of a notorious outlaw into a mythical figure in Bengal’s folklore.
Hoichoi is set to celebrate a significant achievement as it reaches its 200th original series milestone. Among the standout new offerings is “Anushandhan”, where Subhashree Ganguly takes on the role of a journalist unraveling the enigma behind unexplained pregnancies within a women’s prison.
“Naagmonir Rawhoshyo” follows Sohini Sarkar’s character as she embarks on a perilous journey through Thailand in search of a legendary gemstone.
Meanwhile, “Tomakei Chayi” delves into the unsettling depths of obsession, with Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Srijla Guha leading this psychological thriller centred on stalking.
The lineup also includes fresh instalments of beloved series, including “Advocate Achinta Aich 2”, “Nikosh Chhaya 2”, “Kaalratri 2”, and the final chapter of the widely followed “Indu 3”.
Adding to the mix, the horror-comedy “Bhootteriki” promises chills and laughs in equal measure, while the latest entry in the iconic detective series, “Feludar Goyendagiri: Royal Bengal Rawhoshyo”, keeps the investigative spirit alive.
On the big screen, Hoichoi Studios is expanding its footprint with franchise films, including “The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika”, where the beloved sleuth embarks on a new mystery, and “Gora-e Gondogol”, which brings the sharp-witted detective Gora to cinemas for the first time.
Additional theatrical releases include “Kader Kuler Bou” and “Kumir Danga”, further solidifying Hoichoi’s presence in Bengali cinema.
As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, SVF has unveiled an exciting slate of upcoming films. Leading the lineup is “Saptadingar Guptadhon”, a thrilling treasure hunt adventure starring Abir Chatterjee.
Also on the roster is “Chor Police Dakat Babu”, which brings together Abir Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Subhashree Ganguly in a gripping tale of crime and deception. The slate further includes the spiritual biopic “Sadhak Bamakhyapa” and “Killbill Society”, the latest directorial venture from Srijit Mukherji.
In addition to its film and series announcements, Hoichoi has introduced Hoichoi TV+, a fresh format designed to merge the accessibility of traditional television with the flexibility of on-demand content. Among the first titles in this segment are “Shakha Proshakha”, “Atonko”, and “Shri Ramkrishna”, promising a diverse viewing experience.
“Hoichoi has become the ultimate entertainment hub for Bengalis across the globe,” said Soumya Mukherjee, COO of Hoichoi, reflecting on the platform’s widespread success.
Vishnu Mohta, co-founder of Hoichoi and executive director of SVF, credited the platform’s achievements to its dedicated viewers, stating, “Our success is rooted in the continuous feedback from our audience, which has played a crucial role in shaping our content strategy.”
SVF is adopting a dynamic business model that integrates streaming, theatrical productions, and branded storytelling, with strategic growth plans extending to Bangladesh, Southeast Asia, and the global Bengali diaspora.
Mahendra Soni, co-founder and director of SVF, emphasised the company’s evolving vision, stating, “SVF began with a simple goal – to give Bengali stories the recognition they deserve.”
From launching music channels to digitising cinemas, introducing an OTT platform to reviving theatres, every initiative has been about transforming entertainment. After three decades, our drive remains unchanged, but our ambitions continue to grow. This is just the beginning of the next big chapter—so stay tuned,” he concluded.
