Ailing road, transport and bridges minister and Awami League general secretary Obaidul Qauder is now able to walk slowly as his health condition has improved further, reports UNB.

The minister will be shifted to a cabin from the ICU on Tuesday, said professor Abu Nasar Rizvi of the Neuromedicine department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Monday morning, quoting a member of the medical board treating Quader at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

Quader also talked to his family members, MP Ekramul Karim Chowdhury and Awami League leaders.

Cardiothoracic surgeon Sivathasan Cumaraswamy, a member of the medical board, also briefed his family members about his improvement.

The minister was flown to Singapore on 4 March for better treatment following the advice of renowned Indian cardiologist Devi Shetty.

He was admitted to the CCU of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital on Sunday (3 March) last following his breathing complications.
