RAB wants to probe cases against Pori Moni, Helena, 5 others

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has sent a letter to the Police Headquarters seeking the responsibilities to investigate 10 cases filed against seven persons including expelled Awami League sub-committee member Helena Jahangir, actor Pori Moni and producer Nazrul Islam Raaz.

RAB’s Legal and Media Wing director Commander Khondker Al Moin confirmed journalists about it on Monday afternoon.

The elite force official said a letter was sent to the Police Headquarters seeking the responsibilities of investigating the 10 cases filed against Helena Jahangir, Sharful Hasan alias Mishu Hasan, Masudul Islam Jishan, actor Pori Moni and her manager Sabuj, producer Nazrul Islam Raaz and Pori Moni’s so-called uncle Ashraful Islam Dipu.

“If the Police Headquarters accords permission, the RAB will investigate the cases quickly and with importance,” he said.

The law enforcers claimed that they had seized foreign liquor and drugs from the residences and offices of these people.

RAB has claimed that during the raid at actor Pori Moni’s residence from August 4 afternoon to night, 19 bottles of foreign liquor, over 150 used liquor bottles, yaba pills and sisha, dangerous drug LSD and ICE.

At the same night, yaba pills and liquor were seized from producer Nazrul Islam’s Banani office.

The case statement says that Pori Moni used to keep the iquor at her residence collecting through one Kabir.

The elite force also said that after interrogating Pori Moni, it was learn that she used to procure hard liquor through Nazrul Islam Raaz.

On the other hand, RAB has claimed  that some 7,200 yaba tablets from a flat at a flat owned by businessman Sharful Hasan Mishu from Basundhara Residential area. Three drug, arms and pornography related cases were filed against him.

Besides, cases relating to drug, arms and pornography were filed against Jishan.
