Rumeen gets BNP nomination for reserved women seat
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has nominated Barrister Rumeen Farhana as its candidate for reserved women seat in the 11th parliament.
BNP sources said Rumeen Farhana is going to submit her nomination papers to the Election Commission (EC) today (on May 20).
According to the schedule of EC, May 20 is the last day for submitting nomination paper.
In the last Jatiya Sangsad polls, held on December 30, the Awami League (AL)-led Grand Alliance secured 288 seats — the AL 257 alone, the Jatiya Party 22 and others 9. Meanwhile, the BNP-led Jatiya Oikya Front got only eight seats.
According to the 11th parliamentary polls’ results, only one seat is reserved for BNP.
Barrister Rumeen Farhana is international affairs assistant secretary of BNP.
