- Ranbir Kapoor to star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next titled Animal
- Reports suggest Parineeti Chopra and Anil Kapoor will join the cast
- Ranbir also has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmāstra slated under his name
After staying off the silver screen for nearly two years, Ranbir Kapoor is all set to star in Kabir Singh fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next titled Animal. The title announcement of the movie was made some time back and it had a rather intriguing voice-over by Ranbir, making us all the more excited for the flick.
Earlier when the announcement was made, it was reported that Anil Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra and Bobby Deol will join the cast in pivotal roles. Recently their character details came to be known and a Pinkvillla report suggests that Anil will play Ranbir’ father while the Ishaqzaade actress will essay the role of main lead (Ranbir’s) wife.
According to the announcement video shared by the makers, the voice-over indicates a troubled father-son relationship thus if the reports are to go by, then Ranbir and Anil’s dark and intense bond will be worth looking out for.
This is probably the first flick wherein Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in a dark role, given how most of the films he has done so far have him play a comic character.
As for Parineeti, this will be the second time she will be sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor after the latter’s comedy-drama Besharam.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor also has Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra slated under his name. The project was pushed due to the on-going pandemic. Otherwise, the first part of the three-part action fantasy was expected to hit the theatres back in 2020.
No new date of release, however, has been announced by the makers as of yet. The said movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles and Akkineni Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy will play pivotal characters.
Along with this, Ranbir Kapoor also has Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera. The film casts Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor and was expected to wrap up shooting by January 2020.
