Sharfuddin appointed as new BSMMU VC

Professor Md Sharfuddin Ahmed has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
Born in 1956, he graduated from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College under Dhaka University in 1982 and had residency training in the capacity of an assistant surgeon.
Later, he joined the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
He was deputed to IPGMR under Dhaka University and BSMMU for higher education leading to a diploma in Ophthalmology in 1985 and Master of Surgery in Ophthalmology in 2004.
Sharfuddin also served in Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, IPGMR and BSMMU as registrar, resident surgeon, assistant professor, associate professor and professor from 1986 respectively.
