Shopping malls, markets to remain closed in Rajshahi

Strict lockdown has been imposed on Rajshahi as the district became the hotspot for COVID-19.

The district administration has issued notification in this regard with some directives including closure of shopping malls and markets.

Rajshahi DC Md Abdul Jalil informed this at a press conference on Wednesday.

He said all shopping malls and markets will remain closed from 7pm to 6am from June 3.

People’s movement from 7pm without emergency need and holding meetings and gatherings have been prohibited.

All entertainment venues will also remain closed during lockdown.

But, emergency service provider agencies, hospitals, clinics and diagnostic center, and transports of mango, agriculture items and raw materials will remain out of purview of the restriction.

As per the government directives, operation of public transports will remain normal.

The DC said the lockdown will be stricter this time.
