Siam credits ‘Jongli’ as a transformative journey
Prominent actor Siam Ahmed, who first captured hearts with crowd-favorite television series like “Bhalobasha 101”, “Tomar Amar Prem”, and “X Factor Reload”, has since made a seamless transition to the silver screen, cementing his place in the film industry. In an exclusive conversation with The Daily Star, Siam shared his transformative journey through “Jongli”, an M Raahim directorial, which is set to hit theaters this Eid-ul-Fitr, much to the delight of his devoted fans. Twice honored with the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his roles in “Bishwoshundori” (2020) and “Mridha Bonam Mridha” (2021), Siam continues to push boundaries, making “Jongli” one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year.
After a break from cinema, the actor is excited to share his new film with the audience. “The official announcement for Jongli is out. Viewers will get to watch it this Eid-ul-Fitr. It’s been a while, and I’m eager to make my return,” Siam shared.
When asked about his expectations for the movie, the “Damal” famed actor expressed sheer confidence. “After a long wait, my movie is finally being released. I have faith in myself and in this film. I know the audience has high expectations, and I trust they will come to the theaters to watch ‘Jongli’.”

About preparing himself physically for the role, Siam opened up about the lengths he went to for maintaining authenticity. “I didn’t use any fake hair or beard for this role. I stayed in the same look for seven months to maintain consistency. Only after the shoot did I change my appearance. It was challenging, but I did it for the film.”
When asked about his effort for the role, Siam clarified that it wasn’t a sacrifice. “I didn’t think of it as a sacrifice at all. I worked on this project out of love and dedication to my craft. When you truly love something, you don’t think about what you’re giving up. I poured my heart into this role.”
He also hinted at some major surprises awaiting viewers. “There are several unexpected twists in ‘Jongli’. The audience will experience these surprises when they go to the cinema. They’ll see me in ways they haven’t before.”
