Singer Ayub Bachchu passes away

Noted singer, lyricist, composer and also the founder of the country’s one of the leading bands, the LRB, Ayub Bachchu passed away. He was 60.

He breathed his last in the capital’s Square Hospitals around 10 am today.

According to family sources, he was found unconscious inside his room in the capital’s Moghbazar area this morning and was rushed to the hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

LRB Band Manager Shamim confirmed the news. He said: “He suffered a massive stroke and died.”

Born in Chittagong, the popular singer started his music career there with the band, Feelings, in 1978.

He was a member of Souls as lead guitarist from 1980 to 1990.  In 1991, he formed his own band, LRB.

LRB released its first album containing hard rock songs like  “Madhobi” “Hoker” “Sesh Cithi keno amon Cithi hoy” “Happy” and “Dhakar Sondha”.
