The year 2020 put the spotlight on Sonu Sood, and for all the right reasons. From helping migrant workers go back to their homes to coming to the rescue of patients in need of financial help, the actor has been working tirelessly for the well-being of fellow Indians during the COVID-19 pandemic. He even provided help to frontline workers, students and a circus troupe amid the testing times.

Sonu, who was recently appointed the state icon of Punjab by the Election Commission of India (ECI), has now achieved a special feat. He has beaten superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar in terms of engagement on Twitter. It is worth mentioning that the needy connect with the actor on the micro-blogging website, and it is precisely because of this reason that he has earned the numero uno position in the Twitter engagement race.

According to a social media analytics firm called Twitteet, Sonu is ranked at number four in all the categories. He is only behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi and Virat Kohli, who clinched the first, second and third positions, respectively.

With 2.4 million engagements, the actor is on top of the Bollywood list. Besides SRK and Akshay, the top personalities he has left behind in the race include Anupam Kher, Riteish Deshmukh and Pooja Hegde.

Meanwhile, Sonu is planning his autobiography titled I Am No Messiah, in which he will possibly talk about his experience as a philanthropist.
