Thor and Star Lord’s camaraderie leads Marvel fans to think the god of thunder could be ‘gay’

Our favourite god of thunder is back and how! The official teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth instalment in the Thor franchise, is now available. Fans were ecstatic to see a new Thor avatar that wants to “figure out exactly” who he is rather than battle.

The Taika Waititi directed film’s teaser had certain elements of metamorphosis in Thor’s demeanour, such as burying the Stormbreaker, meditating, and fleeing a battle. Thor and the Star-Lord, alias Peter Jason Quill, played by Chris Pratt, had a playful exchange of expressions in the teaser. The exchange generated a new debate over Thor’s character being gay.

In the teaser, Star-Lord adds, “If you ever feel lost, just look in the eyes of the people you love.” This is when Thor is depicted staring earnestly and tenderly into Star Lord’s eyes, only for Star Lord to shut him down minutes later, saying, “Not me.” “What? Just listening,” Thor responds with an uneasy chuckle.

This little and brief encounter between Star-Lord and Thor went viral on social media. Many people applauded Thor’s inclusion in the MCU as a potential gay superhero. Many people pointed out hints that Thor is gay, citing examples from previous films like Thor: Ragnarok.
