Traffic constable ‘commits suicide’ in Dhaka

A traffic constable of Mirpur 14 reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the roof of Barrack Bhaban this morning.
The deceased was identified as Shyamol Chandra Ray, 43, son of Pulin Chandra of Sadar Police Station area and a constable of Traffic North Zone.
Confirming the news, Kafrul OC Selimuzzaman said: “The incident took place around 6 am today. It is assumed that the constable committed suicide jumping from the roof the building. However, we are waiting for the autopsy report. The body has been handed over to the family.”
SI of AB Force Jahangir Alam said: “Shyamol was on under Mirpur 14 barrack at its 5th floor. Suddenly he was missing in the morning and found lying on the basement. He was then taken to Razarbagh Policelines Hospital and then to DMCH where the duty doctor declared him dead
