A resolution will be introduced at the United Nations seeking measures to ensure that no country gives shelter to self-confessed killers, said Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.

He said this at a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Foundation in Dhaka on Tuesday evening.

“Some of Bangabandhu’s self-confessed killers have fled to different countries. We managed to bring one back on the Father of the Nation’s birth centenary. However, five remain in different countries,” Momen said.

Emphasising peace and stability for the development of the country, the minister said, “We have seen that wherever a government is stable, there is peace, prosperity and development of the people.”

Citing examples of Singapore, Malaysia, Rwanda, and the United Arab Emirates, Momen said, “These countries have been able to develop a lot because of long-term stable governments.”

On the other hand, in Iraq and Libya, the condition was once well, but now, they are facing a difficult test due to the lack of peace and stability in the region, he added.

Momen also called upon the workers of Bangabandhu Foundation to be careful about those who spread rumours abroad.

“Some people have created many fabricated stories and spread false rumours to disturb the country’s peace and stability abroad,” he said.
