Women trafficking ring leader Rafi among 4 remanded

A Dhaka court has placed international women trafficking racket’s ring leader Ashraful Mondol alias ‘Boss Rafi’ and three other members on a five-day remand each.
The three other member s remanded are: Rafi’s associate Sahida Begum alias ‘Madam’ Sahida,46, Md Ismail Sardar,38, and Ad Abdur Rahman alias Arman Sheikh,26.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara passed the order.
Earlier, police produced them before the court seeking 10 days’ remand for them to properly investigate the matter.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Rafi and three others from Jhenidah, Jashore and Benapole from Monday night to Tuesday morning.
Later, a case has been filed against them with Hatirjheel Police Station.
Hailing from Nadpara in Shailakupa upazila of Jhenidah, Rafi got involved with women trafficking 10 years ago.
