Youth commits suicide by jumping into Hatirjheel Lake from bridge

A 22-year-old youth has committed suicide by jumping into Hatirjheel Lake from the bridge after an altercation with his girlfriend, police said.
The deceased was identified as Bazlu Miraj Chowdhury Raj, son of B Zaman Chowdhury, from Section 12 at Mirpur in the capital.
The body was recovered after Friday night. Later, it was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for postmortem.
Quoting the deceased’s mother Sheikh Nadira Begum, Hatirjheel Police Station OC Abdur Rashid said Raj jumped into the water from Hatirjheel Bridge on Friday midnight and drowned.
Later police recovered the body with the help of Fire Service divers and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Raj had a love affair with Noor Mirza Akhter Barsha Jeris.
According to family sources, Raj committed suicide over starined relations complications with the girl.
